Hi, i just signed up Property Guru hoping that I can find useful answers from the experts. I am interested to join as property agents & am currently doing my research on the industry. Actually i have signed up a career seminar with Propnex today but sadly they postponed it due to MND new regulations. And i've heard that Oct will be the last batch to take any courses. Am i right? Since i hv nt much time to think abt, can u pls advice what shd i do now? Is it too late to take the exam? I am currently an insurance agent and i do not wAnt to jump info another industry w/o thinking in-depth just like what i've done before. Honestly, i feel so much confidence in becoming a property agent.

Your questions regarding exams are relevant, however I believe that it is a very small part of the bigger picture in real estate. Whilst you should be concern over the CES exams etc, there are bigger picture that you need to keep in perspective, as far as consistent income and personal freedom that you can achieve in real estate.

“Knowledge is the antidote to fear”

I started off as a part timer in real estate. I was a marketing researcher for 8 years and realized that I wanted to do something more in life. It was at a juncture of life where I find that I want a flexibility of timing, constant education and motivation and right mentoring to lead me to the right direction. I admit that real estate was not my ideal choice but I decided to give it a go. With constant encouragement and training, I managed to clinch the Title of ERA Top Rookie in Jan 2008 (6 months after joining). The rest they say, is history.
(2008 – Marketing Manager, 2009 – Senior Marketing Manager then Marketing Director, 2010 – Senior Marketing Director).

I’d like to share with you my experiences and tell you why I was a reluctant real estate agent at first. Nobody grows up wanting to be a real estate agent. In fact it is a profession that is being frowned upon. Let me share with you how that all have changed, and see if real estate is your cuppa tea.
