Hi there, there is a cooldown period of 15 months after you have sold off your private property before you are able to buy a HDB unless you are above 55 years old that is provided that you have satisfied the other requirements. If you have a valid reason, we can try to appeal to HDB to waived this requirement. We actually have done quite a few similar successful case and would be happy to assist. For SPR to buy a HDB flat, both you and wife will need to be SPR for at least 3 years to be eligible. You will also need to sell off the private condo and observe a 15 months period before you are eligible to buy a HDB flat.

There are a couple of things that require your attention based on your intention:
1) SPR private property sellers must fulfill a 15-month wait-out period after the sale of their private property before they are eligible to purchase a resale HDB unit.
2) SPR married to another SPR has held the status for 3 years or more, or to a Singaporean, are eligible to purchase a resale HDB unit. Single SPRs are not eligible to purchase a resale HDB unit.

Hi,

1) In the first place, you must meet one of the eligibility schemes listed on the HDB web:
https://www.hdb.gov.sg/residential/buying-a-flat/understanding-your-eligibility-and-housing-loan-options/flat-and-grant-eligibility

2) The next is the cooling measure that implemented on Sep 2023. All private residential property owners who wished to buy an HDB flat must wait for 15 months after selling their property before eligible to buy.

3) The only exception is for those owners who are at 55 yrs and older buying a 4-rm and smaller flat.
4) This age limit is applicable to the owners and their spouse.
5) You will have to apply for an HFE to be categorized as eligible to buy an HDB flat.
6) You are not suppose to view any unit without an approved HFE.
