Hi,
My uncle, 60yrs old, retired & alone, working part-time to pass time, earning abt $1K/mth enough to cover daily expenses. He's the sole owner of a 5-rm hdb flat, fully paid.

Now he wishes to buy a small private condo (abt 500k) for investment, either for rental or to flip. Is there any way that he can get a loan or re-mortgage his HDB flat? Or can anybody volunteer some other options?

It is not very wise for him to use cash (his savings) to buy the private property, but if this is the only choice, can he do this? If so what proof is normally reqd for such cash purchases?

Would greatly appreciate all comments.. thanks!
