To start off as salesperson, you need capital which is similar to all business. Discipline, drive, determination, sense of direction and a good mentor keeps you moving ahead. Being new to the industries, you will face alot of rejections, failure and confusion. Hence having directions and guidance will definitely be more helpful.

Hi,

It would not be easy to work as part time in the real estate industry. The industry is very competitive and clients expects the best service from the agent they deal with.

A few road blocks you might encounter as part time
1. Your market knowledge will be limited as you spend 5 other days working
2. Your response to clients will be slow
3. Your time is limited when it comes to viewing timing available
4. it will not reflect well if you do outside work while working in your company.

However, that being said, i do occasionally see some part time agents doing well, rarely.

I tried out part time while working in a MNC in the cooperate world for 6 mths with no sales. I decided to leave and I managed to close 5 deals in the first mth i became full time. That is why i strongly encouraged my colleagues to go full time as i think its going to be worth the investment.

The basic criteria to be eligible is -
1. min 21 yrs old
2. must have 4 O'level passes.

Then, you will need to register at the Council for Estate Agencies(CEA)and enrol for the new council course & exam, Real Estate Salesperson (RES) (and pass the exam).
REA- the exam for agent keen to set his own agency.
RES- the exam for agent planning to be salesperson.

CES Course Fees $834.60 w/ GST
Exam Fees $246.10 w/ GST

CEA Registration Fee $299.60 w/GST

Indeminity Ins
Name cards and Tag

Then, you may join any agency of your choice.

Alternatively, if you do not possess 4 O'level passes, you have to take and pass a test, called - WPLN (Workplace Literacy & Numeric skills) conducted by WDA (Workforce Development Agency) before you can register for the RES course, conducted by CEA. Once you've passed RES, you may join any agency of ur choice.
