Hi, We are currently looking to purchase our first property in Singapore as a Couple. I am currently on EP (foreigner) and Spouse is SPR. We are both in Singapore for well over 13 years. Due to the recent hike in ABSD % for foreigner, it doesn't make sense for me to get a property on my name due to 60% ABSD. However, we are planning to purchase on my wife name who is SPR and eventually will only need to pay 5% ABSD.
Now the problem being, her salary is ~5k for which she is not been able to get higher Loan amount. I am currently early 20k per month. Is there any way where i can co-finance the Purchase while not being part of the property Holding ?
I have heard of 99/1 rule, but we are looking for resale condo Only as new launch are small in size. Is this rule applicable to Resale condo as well ?
