Hi there Chris, there are some foreclosure units that get sold before they go for foreclosure. These are fire-sale units.

Foreclosure units are commonly known as mortgagee sale here in Singapore. Such units may go for sale by private treatise or by public auction.

You do not need any agent to accompany you for the public auction. However, having a real estate professional by your side to give you advice gives you an added advantage (if you are a newbie to real estate in Singapore).

What Yian say is correct. However, most of the time foreclosure or mortgagee sale is rare in Singapore. There are monthly autions from my company. I can furnish you with the information whenever possible.

However normally auctions prices goes high in Singapore and eventually doesn't make sense to buy anymore.

You may want to reconsider visiting auctions. For mortgagee sales, it is even rarer in this current market condition.
