As long as you are above the age of 21, you will be able to purchase and own a private property. It will be good to start early as data has shown that property is a good hedge against inflation and it appreciates in the long run.

As long as you are above 21 years old , has 20% cash or cpf for downpayment for the condo , the balance 80% can be borrowed if neccessary , the loan amount varies and is subject to your income .

Stamp duty payable to the government plus lawyer legal fees in total is approximately 3% of the property price for singaporean , 8% for permanent resident p r , or 18% for foreigner .

Hi,

(1) There are no specific requirement for buying private property. The main requirement is legal age to sign a contract; 21 years old in Singapore.

(2) Note that there are certain criteria which was imposed as cooling measure by MOF few years back, which is TDSR (Total Debt Seriving Ratio).

(3) TDSR allows only 60% of your stable income for monthly mortgage.

(4) The only financial assistance is via bank; and max loan amount is 80%, loan tenure of 25 years or up to 65 years old.
Thus it is essential to plan your property investment in an earlier age.

(5) Downpayment of 20% is the minimum financial requirement, 5% must be in cash, 15% can be of CPF and or cash.

To be eligible to purchase private properties, you need to be above age of 21. If not, your parents can also purchase under a Trustee if you're below 21.

Some of the other requirements includes, ability to fork out minimum 20% downpayment for the property, the relevant stamp duties for the purchase, and also the ability to secure sufficient loan.
