Agent representation in a real estate transaction is never compulsory, therefore it is definitely not a requirement to engage another agent from the same agency to represent you in the purchase because seller's agent is from a particular company.
Essentially, if you are unfamiliar with the terms and conditions as well as process in purchasing a property, it will then be in your interest to appoint an agent who is proficient in managing this transaction for you that you can trust to look into your interest when purchasing a property. In most circumstances, your agent will be sharing the commission with the seller's agent, thus you need not pay the agent any commission in this case.
