I hope someone can help me here. I have a tenancy agreement on a HDB apartment for 2 years. Its approaching the end of the first year and the landlord wants to take the apartment back. He has given me a lame reason/excuse and I suspect that he actually wants to rent it out for a higher price. In the copy of the tenancy agreement which is held by the landlord's agent, it was handwritten (not printed), and endorsed (signed) by the landlord's agent, that the landlord has the right to terminate the agreement after 1 year. Neither my signature nor the landlord's signature is endorsed to this handwritten clause. In a copy of my agreement, there is no such clause. What can I do in terms of enforcing the agreement and/or to seek compensation from a legal point of view?
