I just purchased a condo in Singapore & my completion is scheduled for June 7. I've already made a 5% down payment as well as paid the stamp duty. I was told that the remainder of the payment would be made in May. I've been asking my attorney for a while about the remaining down payment I need to make. However, the only response I keep receiving is that the seller side has not divulged all the tax/maintenance amounts etc & hence we can't provide you with proper details. I am making a fairly large down payment & need some time to move funds around. I am less than 2 weeks away from the completion, with no proper answers being provided. I don't want to be in a position where I am briefed 2 or 3 days before the closing to sort out the funds. Is there a legal time limit to provide the required information in such cases? I find it very odd that I want to make a payment, but can't get a clear answer. Any suggestions would be welcome.
