I'am interested to be a Property agent. I'm new, and i read about the "Fit and Proper" Criteria for new salesperson.

Unfortunately, I had been charge and detained under the misuse of drugs act before. I was released in 2005 and had regretted my past actions. I had since integrated into society and now working as a senior executive in the private sector.

I need advice on the following:

1. Is it advisable for me to attend the RES course? or will i be rejected straight away, since i do not qualify under the "fit and proper" criteria?

3. In line with the yellow ribbon project, for those ex-convicts whom are really serious to repent and interested to be a property salesperson, will CEA consider giving them an opportunity when they register, although it is stated in the criteria that applicants "Must Not have been detained or convicted in a criminal court of law"?

Thanks alot, and hoping to get some clarifications on the above.
