I'm a Singapore citizen, and my husband is not a SC. He lives outside of Singapore right now. We intend to purchase a HDB flat under the family nucleus scheme.

My husband is a co-founder of a foreign company with private residential asset under the company. We've emailed HDB, and they told us that even though the private residential property is in the name of his company, he needs to sell it.

We’d like to know if the HDB officer’s advise is correct?

Dear madam,

The only way to verify this is to write into HDB using separate identity to ask the same question and see if a similar answer is given, since there maybe different officers who are attending to the email and respond. If answer differs, then you may raise an alert, otherwise it should be the correct answer since they are the authority for this subject matter, not us as property agents.

Yes, the officer is right. All HDB buyers and occupiers are to dispose off all interest in all private properties (both local and overseas) latest within 6 months upon the HDB resale flat purchase.
