Mr Tan and Ms Lim(my colleague) own a property at Coronation Road as joint tenants. Ms Lim believes that her share of the property will go to Mr Tan if she dies before Mr Tan. Is this true. Can you enlighten me?

Hi Rachel,

"When one joint tenant dies, his/her interest automatically vests in the surviving joint tenant(s) by operation of law"

Basically, the share of property will go to the surviving owner.

Hi Rachel,

Yes the surviving partner will be inherited
with 100%. However you can seek lawyer advice
about writing a will.
