Which is a better option?
1) Me and my gf have a HDB each.
2) We both still have loan on the HDB. I can clear off the loan (250k) anytime for my own HDB. Current valuation is $607k. My gf has about 250k loan left and her valuation for HDB is about $570k
3) Our combined income is about 330k P/A.
4) Do not have other major loan except daily expenses
Myself - Age 47 in 2025, Annual income about 230k.
GF: - Age 40 in 2025 Annual income about 100k.
Consideration is of course job stability and my age in particularly. Job wise, I am in fintech and I would consider it pretty volatile hence I want to be careful. We have some emergency funds to last say 1 year plus. So the condo should ideally be just 2-2.2mil
Option 1
Retain 1 HDB and not get married legally. Sell away 1 HDB and buy a 3 BR condo as we have 2 teenage kids. Using the other HDB as passive. We will share the loan and because for the fact one of us cant be listed as owner, the other party will help pay in cash monthly
Option 2
Legally married and sell away 2 HDBs to buy a 3br condo. We roughly checked and current valuation of our HDBs are about 570k and 605k respectively.
Any thoughts will be appreciated.
