Storefriendly has launched its first flagship outlet in Singapore at Bukit Batok. As Asia’s largest self-storage network, it boasts an award-winning and revolutionary franchise-based approach to self-storage.
The venture is a collaboration between two self-storage industry titans — Singapore-based Jes Johansen and Kevin Chan from Hong Kong.
At 12,500 sq ft, the fully air-conditioned storage outlet will feature 300 secure storage lockers with sizes ranging from eight sq ft to over 150 sq ft. Much like a convenience store, the branch outlet will be open 24 hours a day. It comes equipped with free trolleys, intelligent security and reliable transportation services that provide customers with a safe, secure home-extension solution.
Storefriendly’s unique self-storage approach earned it the Superbrands Award “Hong Kong’s Choice” in 2009, and made it the predominant self-storage brand across Hong Kong and Mainland China.
As a 15-year veteran in the logistics and storage industries, Johansen, a self-storage facilities and operations expert, will spearhead the expansion and operations in Singapore.
“Storefriendly is the first and only franchise-based self-storage provider in Singapore; the smaller storage unit sizes we offer generate higher revenues per square foot for the franchisee, whilst maintaining lower cost of entry for the customer. And unlike the other local operators Storefriendly is 100 percent climate controlled 365 days a year. Storefriendly expects to open one new store every three months, with 25 stores as the target by 2014,” said Johansen.
