For a mere S$23.3 million (THB558 million), you can buy Villa Verai – currently the most expensive property on the market on the Thai island of Phuket.
The largest villa in the luxury Cape Yamu development on Phuket’s east coast is set in more than 16,000 sq m of land, and was designed by Kuala Lumpur-based Jean-Michel Gathy, the favoured architect of the Aman resorts chain.
The home boasts 100m of beach frontage and also features the largest private swimming pool on the island. The spacious interior was designed by Hong Kong-based Debbie Oppenheimer, with white dominating throughout.
Artwork and fittings were privately commissioned by the owners, while outside the landscaping is decorated with mature flora imported from northern Thailand.
The house also has seven en-suite bedrooms, a gym, its own state-of-the-art movie theatre, and accommodation for three live-in staff and an estate manager. It is being sold complete with all of its exquisite furnishings.
The price-tag for Villa Verai comes close to the record-breaking S$31.4 million purchase of Beyond Villa in Phang Nga, north of Phuket island, by a Russian buyer in August 2010.
