The number of new private homes in 2011 may be the highest in 10 years, after new launches surged recently.
Experts predict that around 18,300 new homes could be released this year, outpacing last year’s 16,500 (the highest in a decade so far) and easily beating the 9,900 annual average between 2001 and 2010.
Figures have skyrocketed as developers continue to rush out projects this quarter, which had previously been a quiet period.
There were several major launches in October and November, including City Developments’ The Palette in Pasir Ris, Sim Lian’s Parc Vera condo in Hougang and CapitaLand’s Bedok Residences.
