The tallest tower at Metro Residences Chatswood will be released to the market ahead of schedule.
This comes after the 290 units released at the first two towers were snapped up over the weekend.
Metro Grand features a 46-storey tower comprising 261 apartments. It will provide some of the best views in Sydney, ranging from the south to the Central Business District (CBD), east to Sydney Heads, west to the Blue Mountains and north over the Ku-ring-gai National Park.
Metro Grand will be constructed on the western side of the Chatswood Interchange, over the bus station and railway, while Metro Spire and Metro View will be constructed on the eastern edge of the already finished retail podium.
The construction of the towers is slated to commence in mid-2011.
The demand for apartments in the first two Metro towers was the most frenzied seen in Sydney since the early 1990s, when off-the-plan marketing was in its infancy. Out of 292 apartments, 290 were sold over the weekend. The sales included five of the six penthouses, with the best price being AUD$4.1 million.
“The pace of sales in Singapore and Hong Kong for Stage 1 was phenomenal,” said Darien Bradshaw, Executive Director, Asia Pacific International Project Marketing. “We are confident that interest will be very keen for this next phase.”
CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) will head a Registration of Interest campaign for Metro Grand, with the VIP pre-release event expected to be held in April. CBRE will also start marketing Metro Grand concurrently in Singapore and Hong Kong, with a Metro Grand exhibition planned for April.
“The reason for the demand is that Metro Residences is the best site in Chatswood, offering the finest views,” said David Milton, Managing Director of CBRE Residential Projects in Sydney. “Many buyers have come from surrounding buildings and are upgrading to Metro, knowing that it will be the most sought after address in Chatswood.”
