URA gives green light to new projects

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) conferred provisional permission to a number of commercial, industrial and residential projects in Q4 2011, according to The Business Times.

Among the projects is a 670-room hotel on Orchard Road by Yat Yuen Hong, a unit of Hong Fok Corporation, which also owns International Building on Orchard Road.

Watergate, a mixed development at Jurong Gateway also earned approval for the development of 34,700 sq m of retail space and 35,590 sq m of office space. The development is a joint venture (JV) between CapitaLand, CapitaMalls Asia and CapitaMall Trust.

Among the residential projects given provisional permission was a 532-unit condominium by Publique Realty at Punggol Field, controlled by ZACD Investments and Capital Development. Another development is the 429-unit seven-storey Palm Isles at Flora Drive by Frasers Centrepoint.

Keppel Bay also received permission for a 367-unit condominium at Keppel Bay Drive while Asplenium Land, a unit of Tuan Sing, got the go-ahead for the 276-unit Seletar Park Residence (pictured). Hoi Hup Realty’s residential venture at Whitley Road, consisting of 58 semi-detached and four terraced houses, also earned approval from the URA.

The URA also gave the green light to a 7,890 sq m project at Nepal Park by A-Reit and a 12,520 sq m facility by Rohde and Schwarz Property, both listed for business space.
