Large crowd at Tampines EC launch

31 Jan 2012

Sim Lian Group’s latest executive condominium (EC) project, The Tampines Trilliant, has attracted large numbers of potential buyers since its launch last week.

The 670-unit 99-year leasehold development comprises 12 blocks of mostly three-room units and is located near Tampines MRT station, a bus interchange, shopping malls such as Tampines Mall, Tampines 1 and Century Square as well as reputable schools like St. Hilda’s Primary School and Gongshang Primary School.

Prices range from S$682,000 for a three-room unit to S$971,000 for a four-bedroom unit. Channel NewsAsia reported that some potential buyers feel the units are rather pricey, while others think they are expected of a new EC launch.

Despite the high prices, Kuik Sing Beng, Executive Director of Sim Lian, noted that there was a mix of first-time and second-time buyers who visited the showroom over the weekend.

“The project’s prime location near Tampines Central is a key attraction for many, and we expect to continue seeing more families coming down before the application period closes on Tuesday," he said.

Tejaswi Chunduri, real estate analyst at PropertyGuru, added that “with the income ceiling to purchase new ECs being reviewed, first timers and genuine buyers who would otherwise look for mass market condominiums will now come back to public housing and especially ECs which provide condominium-like facilities.”

Applications for units at the development will end tomorrow, 31 January, while the booking date is this Saturday, 4 February.
