The concept for the Resort Wellness development in Medini Central was presented to both Singaporean and Malaysian prime ministers, along with their respective ministerial delegations, in Putrajaya yesterday.
Known as the Medini Integrated Wellness Capital, the 210 acre development is located near the Tuas Second Link to Singapore and is developed by Nuri Merdu Sdn Bhd (Nuri Merdu), which is a joint venture (JV) between Pulau Indah Ventures Sdn Bhd (Pulau Indah) and Galaxy Prestige Sdn Bhd (Galaxy Prestige), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eastern & Oriental Berhad (E&O).
“The Medini Integrated Wellness Capital is built around the concept of ‘Living in the Heart of Wellness’, a sanctuary centred upon the ideology of preventive wellness to prolong one’s active years,” said Tan Sri Syed Anwar Syed Jamalullail, Chairman of Pulau Indah.
The Medini Integrated Wellness Capital concept includes two main components, Medini Estate and Medini Sanctuary.
The Estate is a broader, overall development comprising external and internal landed residence spaces, serviced apartments, commercial villages and condominiums bordered by a natural mangrove forest.
Meanwhile, the Sanctuary, which lies in the nucleus of the Estate, is “a perfect sensorial world, inspired by nature, local traditions and modern science”.
“Having established the broad concept for the Medini Integrated Wellness Capital, we are progressing to carve out the details of the masterplan,” said Eric Chan Kok Leong, Deputy Managing Director at E&O.
“Reputable wellness operators from within the region, as well as international brands who wish to introduce their wellness products and services to a new and growing target market are most welcome to present their proposals to us so that we can collaborate from the outset to create a truly distinctive and holistic concept to reality.”
