A growing number of architectural enthusiasts are finding more creative ways to furnish homes and hotels, incorporating non-traditional features and materials.

In San Francisco, a couple decided to use the 127-foot space in their apartment to showcase an industrial-themed home (pictured).

Jeff Wardell and Claudia Sagan turned two shipping containers into a guest bedroom and office, according to media reports. Shipping containers usually serve as large storage spaces and may be re-used for different purposes.

Over in Singapore, the Ocean Suites at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) will soon offer guests a unique experience with underwater hotel rooms. For S$3,000 a night, guests can sleep while being surrounded by manta rays and sharks.

With a floor-to-ceiling acrylic panel, the duplex rooms allow guests to view the Open Ocean habitat which has over 50,000 marine animals.

The RWS Marine Life Park features two areas – the Adventure Cove Waterpark and the aquarium featuring the Open Ocean tank that’s considered the largest aquarium viewing panel in the world.
