PropertyGuru, Asia’s leading property portal successfully hosted ‘Gift Life’, a regional blood donation drive that saw a number of people, including members of the public donate blood earlier today.
Several of PropertyGuru’s over 200 employees from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand took part in the drive, held in partnership with the Singapore Red Cross Society. The aim was to raise awareness on the importance of donating blood.
The Singapore activity took place at Bloodbank@Dhoby Ghaut Xchange along Orchard Road.
This campaign is part of GuruCares, an annual outreach programme by PropertyGuru that gives back to the community through corporate social responsibility initiatives and charities, together with other humanitarian organisations.
“This is the third year that GuruCares is involved in a large-scale community project,” said Steve Melhuish, co-founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of PropertyGuru.
“In previous years, we have kicked off our efforts with Hair for Hope for Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) where we raised more than S$18,000 for cancer-stricken children and their families, and participated in the Yellow Ribbon Run to raise awareness for ex-prisoners. This year, we aim to donate 600 units of blood from over 600 donors from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.”
With the slogan – “Give Blood. Save Lives” – the campaign also urged the public to participate in a list of activities promoting the cause.
