Singapore will continue to ramp up housing supply in the coming year, with the Ministry of National Development (MND) today announcing the Government Land Sales (GLS) Programme for the first half of 2013.

The sites are expected to generate 14,000 private homes, including 3,100 executive condominium (EC) units. There will also be 315,000 sq m of gross floor area (GFA) allocated for commercial use and 1,740 hotel rooms.

Under the confirmed list, there are 12 sites including five EC and one commercial-residential site. They could yield about 6,900 private homes (including 3,100 EC units) and 33,000 sq m of commercial GFA.

For the reserve list, there are 19 sites – 11 private residential, four hotel, two commercial, one commercial-residential and one White – which could house 7,100 housing units, 281,000 sq m of commercial space and 1,740 hotel rooms.

There are three sites planned for office development. A new hotel site at Havelock Road will also be added to the reserve list.
