In a bid to provide developers and home buyers with more housing options, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and the Housing and Development Board (HDB) released two residential sites for sale this month. Both plots are expected to yield about 1,300 housing units.
The first site at Commonwealth Avenue is up for sale under the confirmed list, while the other site at New Upper Changi Road (Parcel B) is under the reserve list.
Located near Queenstown MRT station and offering easy connectivity through the Ayer Rajah Expressway, the Commonwealth Avenue site has an area of 12,086 sq m and maximum permissible gross floor area (GFA) of 59,225 sq m.
Offered on a 99 year lease, the site could house about 700 units. Its tender will close on 5 February 2013.
Meanwhile, the New Upper Changi Road site (pictured) has a land area of 25,794 sq m and maximum permissible GFA of 54,169 sq m. It is expected to yield some 600 homes.
Nestled within an established private housing estate, the site is easily accessible via Tanah Merah MRT Interchange as well as the Pan Island Expressway and East Coast Parkway.
