The land supply in the pipeline under the GLS Programme for 2H2013 will provide for the development of 14,155 residential units, which is roughly the same as the number of units made available under the 1H2013 GLS Programme with a total of 14,035, according to Collier’s Director of Research & Advisory Chia Siew Chuin.
However, the sites under the confirmed list will provide only 5,960 units, compared to 6,953 units made available under the 1H2013 GLS Programme.
“Almost all of the residential sites under the Confirmed List are in the suburban regions with no prime sites, unlike in the 1H2013 Confirmed List where there were plum sites available, such as at Coronation Road / Victoria Park Road and Mount Sophia,” noted Alice Tan, Associate Director and Head of Consultancy & Research at Knight Frank Singapore.
Two sites under the confirmed list are said to have attractive qualities and are expected to be well-received by the market.
These include the site (pictured) along Upper Paya Lebar Road in the Rest of Central Region (RCR), which is near the Bartley MRT station, Bartley Residences and upcoming Barley Ride projects.
Meanwhile, CBRE Research Associate Director Desmond Sim said: “the commercial site at Woodlands Square on the confirmed list is another clear signal that the government is committed to developing the Northern corridor.”
