By Andrew Batt:
A Manhattan real estate agent is in trouble after editing photographs of a US$7 million property he was marketing to make it look more attractive.
Luis Ortiz was shown altering the images on an episode of the top television programme Million Dollar Listing New York. The 26-year-old is now facing a New York Department of State investigation.
Ortiz was shown adding a new oven, wooden flooring and bookshelves into the images to promote the West Village property (pictured).
During the reality show he said: “If I put the real photos out there, nobody would come inside. A little white lie isn’t going to kill anybody!”
He has subsequently apologised and said: “I fell short of my own beliefs. I have to admit, this was not the best of my moments.”
The New York Post reported that the home was sold last month, but that the new owner never saw the doctored images.
