A five-storey penthouse (pirtured) on top of the 49-storey Odeon Tower in Monaco is set to become the most expensive property in the world when it is launched next year.
The unit offers 3,300 sq m of living space and is expected to have a starting price of about US$250 million (S$315 million). The unit, which comes with an exclusive water slide and infinity pool, could even fetch up to £253 million (S$503 million), noted an analyst.
With this eye-popping price tag, the uber posh penthouse would beat the current title holder of the world’s priciest penthouse, a unit at London’s One Hyde Park, which was sold for US$212 million (S$265 million).
Meanwhile, the 70-unit skyscraper is touted to become the second highest building in Monaco when it is completed. The construction of the 170-metre tower started in 2009 and is set for completion on July 2014.
The city-state of Monaco is famous for its exquisite beaches, expensive casinos and yacht-filled marinas. It is also known as the playground for the rich and famous.
