Buyers of the de Guigné Estate, which is on the market with a price tag of US$100 million, will get an added extra as part of their property purchase.
The home in Hillsborough, California – one of the most expensive in the United States – is being sold with the condition that the current owner Christian de Guigné IV will live there until he dies.
The 76-year-old was born in the 47 acre property, and the sales contract states that the new owner will only be able to move in after his death.
The 16,000 sq ft mansion is being marketed by the San Francisco office of Sotherby’s International Realty.
