Thailand property still popular for Singapore investors

Thailand remains a leading choice for Singapore overseas property investors, as evidence from a PropNex property exhibition in the city-state last weekend proves.

Benjamin Tan, District Director of PropNex Thailand Core Team IC, said: “Our inaugural exhibition of five Sansiri projects in Bangkok and Phuket was very well received by Singaporeans. On top of that, multiple groups of clients followed up on their interest and booked flights for showroom visits in the coming days.

Tan added that his clients’ interest was greatly piqued by the upcoming Sukhumvit T77 district in Bangkok.

He also commented that Singaporeans also need no introduction to Phuket.

“The prospect of being able to own a freehold investment condo generating decent yield and a holiday home on a picturesque island at the same time was the main draw for them in considering Phuket,” he added.

Tan also added that PropertyGuru’s Thailand Property Show the preceding week helped to generating interest in Thailand as a property investment hotspot.

“This was evidenced by deals closed after the PropertyGuru show, and some interest overflow to our own exhibition,” Tan concluded.
