Mobile app launched for public to send feedback

The public can now send their feedback on municipal issues through a mobile app, OneService, which can be downloaded from Apple App Store and Google Play for free.

OneService was launched yesterday by the Municipal Services Office (MSO) and the app will automatically route each feedback to the relevant agency.

HDB, NParks, NEA, LTA, PUB, and the Police are among the government agencies participating in the app.

Feedback categories in the app are organised by the nature of issues such as “Cleanliness” and “Roads and Footpaths”, and other functions of OneService include photo attachment and geo-tagging.

Minister Grace Fu, who oversees MSO, said at the launch of the OneService mobile app, “If you see a damaged footpath or a damaged road sign, all you need to do is to select the Roads & Footpaths category, attach a photo of the damaged footpath or road sign and send it to us with your comments. The system will ensure that your feedback is sent to the right agency for action.”

To help agencies identify the exact location that the feedback refers to, there is also map-based “pin-drop” location function.

To test the functionality of the app geographically across Singapore, the app had been tested with about 1,700 users comprising 1400 public officers, and close to 300 grassroots leaders and volunteers.

In a statement, MSO said it plans to invite more agencies to participate in the app, and include additional features in future versions of the app.

MSO was set up in October 2014 to work with eight government agencies to improve the delivery of municipal services in public areas in Singapore.
