Singapore Changi Airport has been voted the world’s best airport for a third consecutive year, at the 2015 World Airport Awards, held at Passenger Terminal EXPO in Paris, France.
The airport has won the award six times.
“To win this prestigious award three years in succession is a remarkable achievement for Changi Airport Singapore, and underlines its popularity amongst air travellers as the world’s Best Airport,” said Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted who added that the three consecutive wins came as no surprise given the airport’s continued innovation.
Changi Airport was also awarded the Best Airport for Leisure Amenities for its amenities that include the music bar lounges, cinemas, music deck, swimming pool, napping and rest areas and the in-terminal Transit Hotel.
Changi Airport Group (CAG) CEO Lee Seow Hiang said the win was “particularly pleasing” having been awarded at this point of transformation with upcoming developments including Terminal 4 and Jewel Changi Airport.
“We are most grateful to all our passengers and partners who have, nonetheless, continued to give us their strongest support,” Lee said. “We will challenge ourselves to raise the bar for what an airport can be for travellers and to deliver a memorable experience for all whom we are privileged to serve.”
The World Airport Awards are the most prestigious accolades for the airport industry, voted by customers in the largest, annual global airport customer satisfaction survey that evaluates customer satisfaction across 39 key performance indicators for airport service and product. It is based on 13.02 million customer nominations across 112 nationalities of air travellers, and included 550 airports worldwide.
