Nature lovers can now visit Bukit Timah Nature Reserve on weekends, starting from this Saturday (4 April), according to a statement from NParks.
The reserve has been undergoing restoration works since September last year and had been closed for six months.
A main road trail leading to the summit will open to visitors from 7am to 6pm (with last entry at 5pm) on Saturdays and Sundays only.
Access to the reserve will be via Hindhede Nature Park and the public is advised to keep to the designated route, and to take public transport when visiting the reserve as there are limited parking lots due to ongoing repair works.
Meanwhile, the route through Dairy Farm Park remains inaccessible as trail repair works continue at Dairy Farm Loop.
NParks noted that phase one of the project which involves slope stabilisation works between Keruing Hut and Simpang Hut, as well as trail repair works at Summit Path have been completed.
But works are still ongoing for phase two which includes slope stabilisation at two other locations, trail repairs and enhancements to the Visitor Centre. These are progressing on schedule and will take another 18 months to complete.
To facilitate this, the entire reserve will remain closed on other days for public safety.
