Before I join the agency, my mentor promised to guide all new RES through our first few cases, etc... After signing the contract, my mentor threw us all new RES into the ocean to either swim-or-die. He always says that he's too busy, he doesn't really reply to text messages, and he sounds unhappy and impatient if you were to call him. Sounds like a nightmare enough, but there's more. So I have no choice but to Google to learn and to do everything all my myself from head to toe. Mentor then said that I will need to split 50% of my commission with him because he will come guide me through the paperwork for the handover, but he didn't turn up. (He said that he suddenly have something on) He took away the 50% commission anyway... I have a couple more ongoing cases on hand right now (My own leads) and I honestly do not feel like sharing, but my mentor got upset when I told him about it. He said that I am being unethical for wanting to keep all 100% commission to myself, and that I will get blacklisted if I chooses money over reputation. He claims that he'd spent his precious time on me because he once helped to meet my client for about an hour. (He's asking to take 70% of my commission this time round) Feels toxic, but is this a normal thing in real estate? Heard so many stories, but I didn't expect to fall into such honey-coated traps myself... Is resigning the only way out? :(
