Hi,

In order to purchase a HDB, you will have to sell your existing property within 6 months of getting the HDB.

It can only be done the other way. Where your existing hdb have MOP and you buy another private property.

Hi Sir/Mdm,

So sorry to inform you that you cannot hold on to your EC when you buy a resale HDB. In fact when you buy a HDB, you cannot hold any other residential properties at all regardless what residential type. Even overseas residential properties is also a no.

From your message, it does seem like you are looking to own more than one property which is really the right way to go in our sunny Singapore. In our group, we call this Asset Progression though Property Wealth Planning. There are indeed many ways to own multiple properties and we can also explore many other permutations.

Many people still feel that owning more than 1 property is almost impossible. but actually with the right planning, it is still very possible.

For current private property owner, you need to dispose off your private property within 6 months once you purchased a HDB resale. Dear Sir/Mdm,

Under the current HDB rules and regulations, you will not be able to do that as you are required to dispose off your EC within 6 months once you have purchase a HDB flat.

You may wish to consider to do a decoupling on your EC and purchase another private condo for investment. In this way, you will be able to own 2 properties concurrently.
