Hi all agents,
I require some help as I am about to make an offer for a HDB. I require knowledge and admin assistance in the procedure for that. I am willing to pay $100/hr for assisting me, like a consultant.

Areas of expertise needed
- teach me how to make an offer
- submit the unit to the bank for IPA
- get valuation from HBD?
- apply for HDB grant
- other questions and assistance pertaining to the purchasing

What I do not need
- negotiating the offer amount
- communicating with the selling agent
- recommending me other units
- not conducting our dealings appropriately

I estimate this only takes about 3 hours at most. Probably 1st 1 hour, then just for me to update you on the status, show you where it is the second time. Wrap up the 3rd time. Hope that an agent familiar with a single Singapore citizen purchasing a HDB resale will be willing to take up this tiny stint as a consultant. Thanks!

Hi Marco,

Please do not feel offended but the below is purely my personal opinion and you may not mean the way I am interpreting the situation.

I am personally very offended by the projection of how you would like to pay a real estate salesperson for the purchase of your property. The way you have laid out seems like you are looking more for a contractor than a consultant. To put it bluntly, when you are suffering from cough, you either self medicate by going to the pharmacy to purchase off the shelve medicine or you go to the doctor for full consultation even though what you need could be the standard prescription drugs. You do not go to the doctor, ask the doctor for the drugs and you only pay for the drugs.

Thank you for your attention. Read More

Nope. I am not offended. I think your analogy is totally wrong. In fact, the way I look at it, I am looking for a doctor, or a lawyer. I pay him/her for his/her advise. Actually, perfectly like a lawyer earns by the hour. Not sure how "fuller" the consultation can be, or what you meant a contractor does. Not sure what offended you too.
So basically, I have questions and knowledge I need to find out, someone may have the expertise to teach me. So I pay him/her. Thats how I see it. Not sure about the renumeration, but I thought that's the amount a usual doctor and lawyer earns. Of course not top 10 doctors and lawyers (those command $1k per hour just to talk). Yup, Thats that! Up for negotiation :)

Hi Marco,

I see that what you need is knowledge and admin assistance.

The process of educating you will likely be less than 3 hrs, which works out to $300. I am ok with that.

But I have another request, that you pay $50 per hour for the lessons and training that I went through in my entire real estate career to gain the knowledge that I have today. I estimate it to be not less than 300 hours.

Should you be ok to engage my services, please contact me at my mobile 9748 6305  . I will be happy to give you my professional service.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Robbie Chen

Haha. Seem like those that are not interested are here to debate. Do you pay the doctor S$100k for all his education and medical degree when you see him for an hour?
Anyway, based on how 'offended' the 2 responders are, seems that I'm low balling. S$400 is too low. So how much does it cost to assist me with these application and navigate CPF and HBD? S$900? Like you said 3hours work.
