Hi.... have a question.
WE bought a resale flat with the grant 2and 1/2 yrs back. Now we are going overseas on a long term transfer basis (like 3yrs). What are the options we have?
1. Will the HDB allow us to sell the flat before leaving. If yes is it true that the COv is what we'll get and the remaining goes back to the CPF account?
2. If only renting is possible then is it the whole unit or with one room locked?

Hi Paddy,

Firstly, you need to write to HDB to seek approval to sell/rent your flat. FYI, you are not allowed not rent out the whole unit with one room locked.

The profit will be the selling price - outstanding loan - total CPF contributed.

Hope I have answered your queries.

Afternoon Paddy,

For your case, HDB is unlikely to grant your sales, as you are not migrating out of Singapore. Being on out-station, HDB can grant special approval to rent out the whole unit, during your overseas work commitment. This approval is subjected to application and approval.

Dear Paddy,

You can go to the HDB / HDB branch office to seek their approval on both your option (sale / rent) before you make any commitment

Thanks.

If you can show proof that you will be away for sometime, high chance that HDB will approve to rent your complete unit. All the best wishes... www.catherinepang.com Read More
