Generally speaking purchase of condo involves a 20% downpayment and 8% stamp duties approx if its a PR purchase, with a 80% bank loan. This is provided if you have sold your hdb in the first place. Good morning Neetu,

It's great hearing from you!

I will provide a brief description of the general cost for both HDB and private purchase:

1) Expenses as a HDB seller:
- $80 resale application fee
- $2k legal fees
- agent commission (2% of sale price)

2) Expenses as private purchaser:
- $3k legal fees
- stamp duties (stamp duty for mortgage, buyer's stamp duty and additional buyer's stamp duty)

Is your 5 room flat under the Design and Built scheme? When did your unit attain the TOP? What is your unit's condition, level and facing?
For the purchase, how many bedroom unit are you looking at? Any ideal sizing in mind? Are you looking at centralize location or you don't mind project that's further away from Tampines Central?

Cost of buying would include:

8%-$5400 stamp duty(PR)
2.5K legal fee
