Hi, I bought a BTO house previously and due to divorce, were asked to return the house back to HDB. May I know will there be any levy that I need to pay in the event I would like to purchase a resale flat?

Dear sir/madam,

In a resale flat purchase transaction, resale levy is not applicable if you are not applying for any form of housing grant. Should you be applying for housing grant, the best party to seek advise from will be HDB as they should have your previous records to advise if resale levy will be applicable in your upcoming purchase.

you would have been considered as enjoying a grant and you get keep your grant in this case.

Answer to your question is you do not need to pay any levy if you will to purchase a resale flat.

However should you purchase a 2nd subsidise flat from hdb then you will have to pay half of the incur resale levy.

    Hi, Thank you for your reply. In other words since I have already utilies the HDB grant for my first BTO (which have been returned) therefore should I want to purchase a resale flat, i am not eligible for any grants with HDB right? And what if my partner is a first timer and has not receive any grants from HDB before?
