Hi. I have lived in my flat for 5 years and want to sell it. In view of the latest measures by the government, if i sell my 4 room hdb flat and downgrade to a 3 rm flat, will i still have to pay additional stamp duty(ABSD) for my next home?I do not understand this new ruling. What are the other measures that i have to pay for? Please explain.thanks rita

Afternoon Rita,

If you are SC, you are not required to pay the ABSD. You are selling your current unit to buy another unit. But if you are PR, buying with yor PR spouse, you are eligible for ABSD of 5%.

Do feel free to contact me for further discussion.

Afternoon Rita,

If you are a Singaporean, you will not be subject to ABSD but if you are a PR, you will be subject to 5% ABSD unless one of the applicant is a Singaporean then ABSD relief will be given.

Hope it helps!

If you need any assistance in your property needs, I am just a call away.

Cheers!
