Good afternoon! I will recommend you to do an in principle with bankers first to find out the loan amount you will be able to loan. First it's due to the TDSR ruling and secondly, to prevent you from losing your 1% option money if you find out you won't be able to take up a favourable loan amount. I can request my bankers to advise you on it. As a norm, net rental yield is about 2.5 to 3% in Singapore, you should look into that. As for taxes, it will be the usual buyer stamp duty (additional buyers stamp duty will be applicable if you are a PR or foreigner) and mortgage stamp duty in the event that you do not own any property at the time being. Hi, you might want to get an in principle loan approval from the bank first to see what's the loan amount you could get. Assuming you would want to take up an 80% loan and if you do qualify for 80% loan then with your $400k Cash you could potentially look at property value of $1.7m (considering the 20% downpayment and normal buyer stamp duty given that you do not own any other property and if you are a SC). So it depends what kind of investment quantum you are looking at and the loan that you are able to qualify.
