Hi there, I am Singaporean and my wife is PR. HDB rules indicate that family who has overseas property cannot purchase HDB flat. But how about purchasing resaled DBSS or resaled EC, while we keep our overseas property? Thanks.

Dear solo,

Resale EC is fine. As for DBSS, they are still considered HDB therefore it is prohibited for buyers with overseas residential property from purchasing, unless this overseas residential property is disposed off within 6 months on purchase of the HDB.

    Thanks, Geryl. I goi it.

There is one follow-up question. If we bought a resaled EC, can we rent out? or still have to wait 5 years?
Evening,

DBSS is under HDB hence it's out of your reach. Resale EC will be more for your situation as it would be considered as private property upon fulfilling its MOP.

Do feel free to contact me for further discussion,
