Hi, why when an agent advertise a hdb unit, he will "suddenly" turn up to be the buyer agent?
Buyers who look at the advert will be under the impression that the unit would be marketed by the seller agent, however usually that isn't so. If so, may I ask since the so called buyer agent who advertised the unit is supposed to act in the buyer's interest which is to get the lowest price for the buyer, if there are 2 or more buyers who are interested & approached the agent, who will he act in favor? A buyer agent should only act for 1 interested buyer. Since he is advertising the unit, there would be more than 1 interested buyer.[to be continued in the next Qn]

Dear Alexis,

In general, this agent who has posted an ad for the unit will represent the particular buyer for that unit's transaction if the buyers whom he/she had brought in has their offer accepted by the owner.

You may request for this agent to assist you in searching for your desired unit should the particular unit being marketed is unsuitable for you. My advise is that it will be good if you can check with any agents up front on who they will be representing to avoid any misunderstanding.
