With the current system, you can apply for the valuation report online. You can choose to have it sent to you in soft or hard copy. There's no requirement for seller to sign exclusive. As per Fari Trade Act, exclusive does not serve the seller well. However, it would be good to market your unit under 'sole agent' model. It allow the salesperson to serve you full heartedly and have the salesperson manage the selling price.
As to marketing the unit on your own, if you have the spare time to answer calls and enquiries, plus calls from salesperson who hope to market your unit, and do all the necessary studies to do the paperwork properly, it would totally be your call.
