I am a Singaporean but married to a foreigner on an employment pass. Do we still have to pay additional stamp duty? We are looking to buy a 1 or preferably 2 bedroom condo unit, ready to move in by 2014 or early 2015. Preferred location is around Clementi/Dover/Pasir Panjang. Budget is about $800-$900K.

Hi, if this is going to be your first property as matrimonial home, then no ABSD will be involved.

Both of you will not be subject to ABSD as IRAS will treat this potential property purchase as your matrimonial home.

Good evening,

In regards to your second query, it will depends who is the primary applicant. If you intend to purchase a resale HDB with him under non citizen spouse scheme, you will be the primary applicant as he will only be listed as an occupier in the application.
