Good morning buyer,

As married couple they are considered as single entity to form a family nucleus to own a HDB. Moreover, decoupling is not allowed for HDB nowadays.

If you want to apply for BTO, you can do so if you are eligible under non citizen spouse scheme or single singapore citizen scheme. Selection will be restricted to 2rm in non mature estate.

If not, you can go for resale flats if you are eligible.

Last alternative will be buy apply for BTO or purchase a larger resale flat with your parents.

Hope my explanation helps!

How can I value add further in your property purchase?

Hi,

As your parents are considered a single entity, you can't include your mums name in your BTO application unless they are willing to sell their current hdb.

Without including your parents name, you can qualify under non-citizen spouse scheme or single singapore citizens scheme. I guess this option will be more helpful for your case.

May I understand your plans further so to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

Warm Regards,

    Hi Ivan,

    Thank you for the reply.

I am preparing for the worst if in the event my fiancée is not able to get her PR approval from ICA. I don't think the current policy is favourable to us too as 2 room flats is too small for family planning.

I think the only alternative left (if all else failed - PR status not approved, cant proceed with mainstream BTO option for bigger flats; dont wish to go for the non-citizen spouse scheme) is for resale flats.

Kindly advise what are the things to look out for if we plan to exercise this option. (E.g. Key eligibility criteria to get a resale flat).
