I am considering to reprice my existing housing loan with UOB Bank.
In viewing of probable rising interest rate, is it advisable to opt for floating SORA + rather than the fixed rate of 1.75%p.a. for the tenure of 2 years ?

Hi Leanpong,

1) According to the announcement from the US treasury, they have the intention to raise from the current ~0.9% to 1.9% via 9 rounds of adjustment by end of 2022.
2) So it is no surprise that our local bank will follow suit not only to the mere 1% raise but is going to be higher according to observation.
3) It will depend on your risk appetite to bet that they will not raise their interest rate as they had announced in 2021 to do the same but no action was taken.
4) However just to keep you update the 2 yrs fixed package from UOB had already adjusted from 1.3x% in 2021 to now 1.75% even though it was just smoke from the US treasury.

Hope the above answer your main concerns, but if there are more query, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
I'll be glad to assist.
