I am sharing a room with my friend who rent the whole 3+1 HDB, 2 storey apartment under her name.
Total number of tenants sharing the whole flat is 8 persons. All the tenants are legally residing in Singapore.
Now, my friend wants to add in another 2 persons to share the flat with us. And I understand that the maximum number of subtenants allowed for 4-room and bigger flats is 9 persons.
I would like to know, will she exceeding the limit if she is going to add in another 2 persons?
Any penalties for exceeding the limit?
Who will be the one bare for this matter? (tenant who sign the contract Or all the tenants staying in that flat? )
What will happen to the rest of the tenants, if she exceeded the limit?
Please kindly advice me. I am so eager to tell my friend the right information that what can happen by doing so. And I will stop her if her decision will cause harm to all of us.
