I had signed a tenancy agreement with my tenant 17 months ago (with diplomatic clause added into the tenancy agreement-2 years with 2 month notice). Two months ago, I got the notice of termination from this tenant informing me that he will move to another apartment in Singapore. Can i forfeit his deposit as there is no evidence that the Tenant is either leaving Singapore permanently on a job
transfer or his employment is terminated in Singapore. The main reason that the tenant wants to move out is because he has found a cheaper apartment. In such situation, do i have the right to forfeit his two months deposit? Kindly advise please.
