I plan to buying on another family member name who is SG citizen and his/her first property. So ABSD won't come in. But I don't want to lock myself in loan earlier or I don't want to keep pledged amount (due to shortfall of salary/TDSR), which earns almost ZERO interest. So is it possible to taking loan later say after few stages of buc progress like 45% after development

Are you financing the down payment purely in cash or will CPF monies be involved?

Hi

Is the 45% downpayment and BSD financed fully in cash? If so, yes you can choose to apply loan later, when the payment amount is near and due.

If CPF OA is involved for downpayment or BSD, you need to apply loan now. CPF board needs to see the purchase price amount + BSD can be covered by cash plus approved home loan plus your CPF OA before they will allow drawdown of CPF OA monies for housing.

You might also want to note that only owner can be borrower of the loan.

2. If you intend to use **CPF OA for the downpayment or BSD**, you must apply for the loan now, as CPF Board requires confirmation that the cash, CPF, and loan amount can cover the total purchase price and BSD.
